Had a rejection from Candis today, which is never nice. It was only after I'd posted it out I saw the news that they no longer accept fiction. There is a book club page where we are invited to submit a short story, word count 800 wds. Also authour tips which are always helpful.
We get a chance to comment on other submissions. Might give it a go. It's not the same as having a story in the magazine and getting paid for it, but always worth having somewhere to send stories to.
Commiserations on the rejection. I had rejections from The Weekly News and The Oldie today.

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that, Suzy - I got a nice rejection from The Weekly News! Do you ever try Writers' Forum - they have a good monthly story competition with great prize money. And Writing Magazine/Writers' News have themes for their monthly competitions.
