Take a Break.

I love to read Take a Break, and the Fiction Feast.  Always full of great stories written by my favourite writers'.  Today my story came back to me.  One of those brown envelope days.  Previously, whenever I've had anything published, which has always been articles never stories (yet), I've had a phone call or email.  So, I guessed that it was a  However, the optimist in me has to find something positive in this rejection.  I sent the story on the 10th January.  Sometimes a story can come flying back so fast I often wonder if it even touched down on the editor's desk.  This one looks 'well thumbed' so I think they liked it.  (ever optimistic).  So, I'll now check it over, re-print, and try somewhere else.

No. 1 Positive thought.  They kept it for over a month.
No.  2     "      "           Words with Jam accepted an article to be published in April issue.
No.  2.     "     "      My family still think I'm great.

  1. We have always got to look for something positive in all we do. I know how hard it can be.
I'm here if you ever need a cuppa and chat to see you through. :-)

  2. One day Norah will phone you. That was the day that changed my life. I gave up the day job and decided to go full-time as a writer. I realised it was a now or never situation.
Keep reading those mags and learning from them.

  3. Jarmara thanks for your lovely comments.

  4. Lynne, Thanks for your support and advice.

  5. Hugs for the R. But well done for the Words With Jam acceptance.

  6. When that phone call comes it'll all be worth it! When Norah finally phoned me a couple of years ago she said, 'you've been sending us quite a few stories lately, your name keeps cropping up' and I still remember how thrilled and excited I felt. If you're getting closer and they like your style it will have been noted :o)

  7. Suzanne, thanks for your comments. Your stories are great, I love them. Yes, words with jam is a boost for the confidence.

  8. Hi Karen,
I do send out quite a lot of stories. Often I get 'Please send more' Then I add that story to the pile already in my handbag. Thanks for comments.
